Kyle, Kim, Landen and Callen Movold. My father Mel Movold has owned our lake lot since the fall of 1980 on elk road. I was 3 when I started enjoying Muriel Lake and I am now 34 and what a shame what has happened to Muriel. This site is very encouraging and I hope we can get some much needed answers to why our lake is diasappering. I would love to see some water back so my kids too could enjoy what was once a beautiful lake.

The JACOS proposed water withdrawal of 1400 m3/d equates to a flow rate of 220 Imp gals/min which is excessive. This can’t be tolerated.

Keep up the good work. Your letters a very good Lyall.

PS: I can’t figure out to leave comments on your specific website reports.

Thanks for your comment and encouragement Mel! I noticed that the comments on the specific website reports aren’t working quite right either… still have some tweeking on the website to do. Thanks for letting us know! We really appreciate your input and thanks for providing that conversion to flow rate for the water withdrawal from the JACOS proposed project. Hopefully we get something back from JACOS soon.

Our family owns the Quatre Coins property at the north end of Muriel Lake. It was where I grew up for two months every summer and where I have so many memories. I took my newborn son Taj up to meet his great grandparents Marcel and Therese LaBrie last summer and will be returning this July. At times over July long weekend ther would be over 50 of us. Skiing, knee boarding, fishing, enjoying the lake and all the water had to offer. It’s a time I’m thankful for and weather or not the water levels recover, the area is a special place because of the people that make it. I’m sure many people have memories that will last a life time of their lives at the lake. I’m looking forward to making new ones with my young family at this wonderful place. Thank you for all your efforts and know you have my and my families support.
